Description

Our NZSL courses aim to deepen learners' understanding of communication within personal and community contexts.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Invite others to their home and confidently accept or decline invitations.

  • Give and ask for addresses and contact details, such as email and mobile numbers.

  • Describe and identify the features of their homes, including architectural styles and notable characteristics.

  • Understand and provide simple directions to their homes, enhancing navigational skills.

  • Identify and name different rooms in the house to facilitate conversations about home environments.

  • Name essential household items relevant for visitors, ensuring effective communication during visits.

Additionally, learners will gain the ability to:

  • Communicate about various events, celebrations, and holidays, sharing personal experiences.

  • Discuss travel destinations and modes of transportation, fostering engagement in travel-related conversations.

  • Describe and discuss plans for events and gatherings, enhancing collaborative communication.

  • To maintain dialogue flow, politely interrupt conversations, such as asking for clarification or suggesting alternative ideas.

Prerequisites

A course can proceed only if it receives a minimum number of enrolments.

We must cancel the course a week before if we require more enrolments.
